On February 17th Donald Trump sent out a remarkable tweet: “The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!”. Until then, it was dictators who attacked the free press with such words. But “the American People” obviously doesn't agree with its president: In the last quarter of 2016 the newspaper sold over a quarter of a million digital subscribers – a phenomenon called “Trump Bump”. Journalists are exhausted, but more motivated than ever. How can they investigate a distrustful White House that gives them less and less access?
